This project is a research piece focused on creating cinematic fire simulations, developed using Houdini for the fire effects and Nuke for compositing. The centerpiece of the scene is a dragon engulfed in flames, with the goal of making the fire look as realistic and dynamic as possible.
To achieve this, I used custom VEX code to simulate the way the fire naturally grows and spreads across the dragon’s body. These VEX expressions helped control the fire’s intensity, speed, and direction, allowing the flames to behave in a more lifelike, organic way. This project was a deep dive Pyro FX, resulting in a cinematic fire effect that brings the scene to life.
